Sara Damavandan

Biography
Sara Damavandan (1979, Abadan) holds a degree in Family Pathology from the University of Tehran and has over two decades of experience in social journalism. Since 2001, she has worked as a social journalist for various prominent Iranian newspapers. After leaving Iran in 2013, she collaborated with international media outlets such as Euronews, Iran International, and VOA Persian. Currently, she serves as a journalist for VOA Persian in Europe.
Sara Damavandan is also recognized as the founder and executive director of the Toranj app, a project that provided free psychological and legal services to women experiencing domestic violence for three years. In addition, she is the executive director of Masouest, a project aimed at supporting women and girls affected by violence in Iran.
