Arrests and Executions of Pro-Monarchy Supporters in Iran
Mohammad Zanganeh, a resident of Mashhad, was arrested by intelligence forces at 4:00 a.m. after he published a video showing people chanting “Javid Shah” (“Long Live the Shah”) during the seventh-day memorial ceremony for Khosrow Alikardi.
Mohammad Zanganeh was arrested at his home on Tuesday, 25 Azar (December), by security forces and transferred to an unknown location. His family have expressed serious concern over the lack of information about his whereabouts and his deteriorating physical condition.
According to reports, Mohammad Zanganeh recently underwent leg surgery and has 30 metal screws in his leg. Despite this, no information has been released about his condition or place of detention.
The arrest, torture, and execution of opponents of the Islamic Republic in Iran, particularly supporters of the monarchy, continue to intensify on a daily basis.
On 29 Azar (December), Aqil Keshavarz, a 27-year-old architecture student, was executed on what has been described as a baseless charge of espionage for Israel.
According to reports by human rights organizations, at least 1,000 executions were carried out in Iran between January 1 and September 23, 2025.
